Description of problem: The new update of Midnight Commander has a panel navigation regression. The older versions of Midnight Commander had the capabilities to navigate with the cursor left and right keys within the panels. E.g. pressing cursor right moved to the right panel (including selection of the last selection). E.g. pressing cursor left moved to the left panel (including selection of the last selection). With this update the panel switch is limited to pressing <TAB> only. There is no possibility to swith the panels using the cursor keys anymore as it used to be the case for years. Reading the changelogs on midnight-commander.org doesn't show any signs of changes in that regard. So there might be a regression during "code" cleanup. I initially wanted to report this to midnight-commander directly but since this is an official package provided by Fedora, I'd rather go this way. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mc-4.8.25-2.fc33.x86_64 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open mc 2. Try flipping panels using cursor left or right 3. Does not work Actual results: Using cursors doesn't flip between panels anymore Expected results: Using cursors should flip between panels as it used to be (for decades) Additional info: Please make sure that you don't have "lynx motion" enabled in preferences (should be default off).
I just opened a bug to upstream: http://midnight-commander.org/ticket/4106
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 33 development cycle. Changing version to 33.
Fixed upstream! Closing!
