Moving to Fedora Core 5 requires to rebuild all arch specific Fedora Extras packages. Accordingly build dates, this does not seem to have happened for this package. The x86_64 build fails currently. Any help on fixing the problem would be very welcome, as all my attempts have failed.
So the fix was quite simple : export LDFLAGS="-L%{_libdir}" ...otherwise many libraries (-lz, -lbz2...) aren't found on x86_64 and the shared libraries don't get built. Weird, and probably something wrong somewhere in the included autotools files.
