Description of problem:

In a recovery process I had to remove host and uninstall all vdsm* related packages. Then I try to add this host back to oVirt and it looks like package vdsm-gluster was not installed regardless I have configured "enable gluster service" at cluster level.

It looks like dependency to because without this package host cannot be activated with error "Gluster command [<UNKNOWN>] failed on server <UNKNOWN>." and "VDSM ovirt-hci01.mch.local command ManageGlusterServiceVDS failed: The method does not exist or is not available: {'method': 'GlusterService.action'}"

How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:
1. remove host with glusterfs bricks on them
2. yum remove vdsm*
3. (in my case I recreate and heal glusterfs brick on host)
4. try to add host to oVirt with has enabled gluster service at cluster level

Actual results:

Host is installed bud cannot be activated with error "Gluster command [<UNKNOWN>] failed on server <UNKNOWN>." and "VDSM ovirt-hci01.mch.local command ManageGlusterServiceVDS failed: The method does not exist or is not available: {'method': 'GlusterService.action'}"

Expected results:

Host is added

Additional info:

When I manually install vdsm-gluster package, host is added without problems
