Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Xianghua Chen 2020-08-05 06:22:47 UTC
Description of problem:
Can not get the input content for "Target Path" when Creating storage pool

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cockpit-machines-224.1-1.el8.noarch
libvirt-dbus-1.3.0-2.module+el8.3.0+6423+e4cb6418.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter "Storage Pools"
2. Click "Create Storage Pool" , input "Name" and "Target Path" (do not click the paths which are listed in the drop-down box)
3. Click "Create"

Actual results:
In step 2, failed to create the storage pool because the "Target Path" is empty with an error:
"Target path should not be empty"

Expected results:
The Target Path should be input correctly and the storage pool should be created.

Additional info:
Not only for create storage pool, but also for create vm, all the drop-down box can not get the input value I think.

Comment 1 Katerina Koukiou 2020-08-06 07:14:23 UTC
This is most likely a bug in the react components we are using from Patternfly. We reported it upstream, https://github.com/patternfly/patternfly/issues/3378
In the meantime I will try to implement a workaround.

Comment 3 Katerina Koukiou 2021-01-22 16:07:50 UTC
We need to find a workaround for this, it makes the file autocomplete fields very hard to use.

Comment 4 Matej Marušák 2021-07-21 11:17:33 UTC
Sent PR https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-machines/pull/263

Comment 9 Katerina Koukiou 2021-07-26 11:24:08 UTC
Upstream test testAddDiskCustomPath was extended to verify the fix.

Comment 10 Xianghua Chen 2021-07-27 10:42:14 UTC

Can create the storage pool successfully now. So verified.
