Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Screencast showing the described behavior

Description of problem:
Content Host Traces Management modal window does not respect the selection that the user has done on the previous page before he switched to the current page.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.8

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Content Hosts page
2. Select multiple hosts
3. Select the "Manage Host Traces" action from the list
4. Select TraceA (some trace)
5. Switch to the page 2 to see more traces
6. Select another TraceB
7. Switch back to the previous page and check whether TraceA is still selected.

Actual results:
TraceA is not selected nor the TraceB is, but the counter in the upper right corner of the window shows "2 of N Selected".

Expected results:
TraceA and TraceB should be selected.

Additional info:
Screencast attached, showing similar behavior after selecting all traces across pages and then deselecting some.

Comment 2 Bryan Kearney 2021-11-04 13:48:42 UTC
Upstream bug assigned to jlenz

Comment 3 Bryan Kearney 2021-11-04 13:48:44 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/33078 has been resolved.

Comment 4 Jeremy Lenz 2021-11-04 14:20:45 UTC
This will be resolved on the new host details page where multi-page selection is supported. You won't see a change on the old content host pages.
