Is it possible to build rcs for EPEL 8?
Just in case it helps triage this, I built a working RPM on CentOS 8. I took the RPM from Fedora 28 (rcs-5.9.4-9.fc28.src.rpm), removed "BuildRequires: groff" and "BuildRequires: ghostscript" from the spec file (since for the life of me I can't work out why rcs would require these), installed "texinfo" from PowerTools, plus the other bits of a build environment, and the RPM built cleanly. It installed correctly on a clean minimal C8 install, pulling in no dependencies. I don't have a formal set of tests for rcs, but the man pages are there and all the basic commands (ci, co, ident, rcsdiff, rlog) work as I would expect them to. If this is a satisfactory way of making a package, I'd be happy to be a maintainer, going forwards.
Hi, I have no problem to make you (co)maintainer of rcs. Are you Fedora package maintainer already?
No, I'm not. However, if that doesn't make you rethink what you said above, I'm happy to start the process of applying to be one. Should I do so?
