Description Ampere Computing PE (mas@redhat) 2020-08-10 23:19:41 UTC
Description of problem: aarch64 is not an officially supported platform for RHOS

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): <=4.6

How reproducible: Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attempt to deploy an aarch64
2. Contact support

Actual results: Unsupported architecture

Expected results: Supported architecture

Additional info: This has support upstream, other OSes have supported this for years and it already works. When can we see expect a developer preview?

Comment 1 W. Trevor King 2020-08-10 23:22:42 UTC
Bunch of things will need to support the arch before the installer can do anything about this. Moving to the multi-arch folks.

Comment 4 Dennis Gilmore 2020-08-18 19:34:41 UTC
I am moving this to Jira for future release planning https://issues.redhat.com/browse/MULTIARCH-385

Comment 5 Ampere Computing PE (mas@redhat) 2020-08-24 18:55:39 UTC
Hi, I'd like to keep this open for visibility since I don't have access to Jira. Thank you.

Comment 7 Chris Tatman 2020-08-24 19:52:24 UTC
FYI - I also do not have access to view this Jira case.

Thanks!

1. Setting the bug's Priority to match the Jira ticket's priority.
2. Also this is not a blocker as it is an RFE tracker bug.
3. Continuing to assign this under Dennis' name and moving the bug to "Assigned" until we can close this bug (we should use Jira to track the bug)

Comment 21 Eric Rich 2020-12-07 15:16:52 UTC
All as this is an RFE I am closing this and moving it to https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RFE-1458 for further tracking.
