RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Eduardo Lima (Etrunko) 2020-08-28 15:22:34 UTC
Trying the fix for bug #1835640 introduces an occasional crash that needs to be investigated further, and there is no solution for it at this moment. We need to remove the patch from the build to avoid the crash until a proper solution is found.

Verify this bug with the official build:
virt-viewer-9.0-4.el8.x86_64

Steps:

Steps:
RHV env setup: Prepare ISO images in ISO storage domains.
iso_domain:
RHEL-8.2.0-20200404.0-BaseOS-x86_64-boot.iso

1. Open the VM in RHV and check the "Change CD" sbu-menu in File menu of remote-viewer

Result:
1.1 All ISO images in ISO domain are listed(Here is: RHEL-8.2.0-20200404.0-BaseOS-x86_64-boot.iso)
1.2 Select on ISO image and check it, then the ISO image is attached to the vm.
1.3 Uncheck the current ISO image, then the image is detached from the vm.
1.4 Add a new iso image in ISO_DOMAIN of RHV, then click the "Refresh" button, the new image can be listed successfully and can be attached to vm and detached from vm successfully.
1.5 Remove all iso images from ISO_DOMAIN Of RHV, then click the "Refresh" button, one window pops and shows "Failed to fetch CD names", then click 'Close' button, and then click "Close" button on the main window, exits from "Change CD" window.(Details please see Screenshot-1 and Screensho-2).
It also happens when there is no iso images attached to ISO_DOMAIN, then directly check the "Change CD" sbu-menu in File menu of remote-viewer.

2. Test with Ovirt URI scheme to connect to RHV VMs:

$ remote-viewer --ovirt-ca-file=ca.crt ovirt://rhv.example.com/esx6.7-rhel8.2-x86_64

Result:
2.1 We can connect to vm on rhv successfully after input correct username and password.
2.2 Click the "Change CD" menu item, get the same result with step-1.

@Etrunko, the basic function of 'Change CD' from ISO_DOMAIN works well, but please pay attention to the test result of Step1.5, I think there is no need to have the dual windows to show "Failed to fetch CD names", I suggest to file a new bug to improve it, thanks.

Sorry for ignore this test scenario yesterday.

Thanks for your reply, Etrunko.
I filed a new bug 1876290 to track the Step1.5 issue, so I move this bug from ON_QA to VERIFIED status, thanks.
