Description of problem: There have been situations where people have wound up accidentally removing the bootloader and breaking their installs. In order to minimize the chances of this happening in the future, please install a configuration snippet as /etc/dnf/protected.d/shim.conf with a newline separated list of shim packages that should not be allowed to be removed once installed. At least for my system, it looks like the config would look like this: shim-x64 shim-ia32 Probably you'd want to add the package names for the stuff for other architectures, too...
