Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jonathon Turel 2020-09-02 15:25:59 UTC
The host Subscription (and System Purpose) status should be recalculated in a reasonable time when switching in to or out of Simple Content Access mode.

Comment 1 Jonathon Turel 2020-09-02 15:26:02 UTC
Created from redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/30758

Comment 3 Jonathon Turel 2020-09-02 15:49:17 UTC
Note that this functionality will not work without a related installer change: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1874937

Comment 4 Brad Buckingham 2020-09-03 15:03:38 UTC
Hi Jonathon,

Can you add steps to reproduce to this bugzilla?
This will help QE in ensuring that it is working properly.

Thanks!

Comment 5 Jonathon Turel 2020-09-03 16:35:17 UTC
Expected behavior:

- When switching into Simple Content Access mode, Content Hosts should show 'Simple Content Access' as their status on their details page
- When switching out of Simple Content Access mode, Content Hosts should show their actual subscription status - Fully entitled, or otherwise based on its compliance

Comment 6 Bryan Kearney 2020-09-08 20:03:50 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/30758 has been resolved.

Comment 7 Brad Buckingham 2021-01-08 21:45:18 UTC
The fix for this is in an early Satellite 6.9 SNAP; therefore, aligning to release and updating state.

Comment 8 Stephen Wadeley 2021-01-16 15:38:09 UTC
(In reply to Jonathon Turel from comment #3)

so we should add the to "depends on" field.
