Description papapizza 2006-04-04 11:56:24 UTC
Description of problem:

If i launch FC5 with init 3 mode, I have a kernel panic !

How reproducible:
everytimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. edit grub
2. add "init 3" at the end
3. boot

Actual results:
Crash

Additional info:

I have this problem with :

- kernel-2.6.16-1.2069_FC5.x86_64
- kernel-2.6.16-1.2080_FC5.x86_64

My current solution : edit /etc/inittab file to swicth init level.

Simply add "3" to the end of your kernel line. Passing "init" is only valid if
you're telling the kernel to run a script or program other than /sbin/init after
the kernel loads. And FYI, editing /etc/inittab is the proper way to boot into
run-level 3 by default.
