Description of problem: It looks like everytime I put my monitor to sleep (or screensaver triggers it), the screen wakes up every 20 seconds. I'm not aware of any functionality in snapd that would try to wake the screen up. However, there are calls to `snap-device-helper change snap_authy_authy`, which is triggered by changes in the udev, but then this only attempts to modify the device cgroup. AFAIU this fails because of cgroup v2 and differences in how devices are allowed/denied. Have you tried uninstalling the authy snap? Maybe it tries to show some popup window. Another idea (long shot though), maybe a failure in snap-device-helper triggers abrt like functionality somewhere which then tries to show some sort of notification? Would you be willing to edit /usr/libexec/snapd/snap-device-helper and add `exit 0` at the beginning (after the #!/usr/bin/sh line)?
Hello! After installing snapd (both with and wihtout Authy) it does not trigger the misbehavior anymore. I was able to spot this next to the same errors which appear regularly: fwupd[2541]: 07:02:22:0652 FuEngine altos failed to change udev device /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.1/0000:0a:00.0/0000:0b:00.0/0000:0c:00.0/drm/card0: cannot ensure ID: FuUdevDevice: fwupd[2541]: Unknown Device fwupd[2541]: Flags: none I am switching over to fwupd however both fwupd and snapd are flooding my log with those messages and although I can't reproduce the misbehavior now, it could be the culprit of my problems with screen waking up. I would love to track this down, bought this huge screen and I don't want it to keep waking up every minute when I am having my lunch... ;-)
I don't see how fwupd could wake up the screen, but I've been amazed by hardware before. Can you try killing the fwupd process and see if it still happens?
I've disabled fwupd, the screen was not waking up this time, I still see some weird errors flooding my journal when GPU enters sleep state: zář 21 13:37:57 box.home.lan kernel: [drm] free PSP TMR buffer zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: [drm] PCIE GART of 512M enabled (table at 0x0000008000000000). zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: [drm] PSP is resuming... zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: [drm] reserve 0x900000 from 0x800f400000 for PSP TMR zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: amdgpu 0000:0c:00.0: amdgpu: RAS: optional ras ta ucode is not available zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: amdgpu: SMU is resuming... zář 21 13:38:02 box.home.lan kernel: amdgpu: SMU is resumed successfully!
