Section Number and Name:

Feature summary -> Network and Storage -> IPv6 Single and Dual Stack

Describe the issue:

IMHO IPv6 Single and Dual Stack is not available on OpenShift 4.5 together with openshift-sdn

 * OpenShift Telco/NFV Feature Enablement Timeline RoadMap [1] mention IPv6 Single and Dual Stack target release 4.7
 * OCPPLAN-3164 [2] Dual-Stack IPv4/IPv6 Support -> Target release 4.7

Suggestions for improvement:

In parallel I asked at #forum-sdn slack, wait for feedback: https://coreos.slack.com/archives/CDCP2LA9L/p1601372924101000

E-Mail Thread in OpenShift-SME unfortunately wait for feedback too: http://post-office.corp.redhat.com/archives/openshift-sme/2020-August/msg00198.html

Comment 2 Jason Boxman 2020-10-02 02:13:29 UTC
To be clear, does that mean removing the check mark for "IPv6 Single and Dual Stack" from both k8s Engine and OCP?

Thanks.

Comment 3 Marc Curry 2020-10-02 02:30:39 UTC
It should be clarified in the table (https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.5/welcome/oke_about.html) that IPv6 is only supported on secondary interfaces for both k8s Engine and OCP, in OCP 4.5 (and 4.6, for that matter):

Un-check the boxes on the row:
"IPv6 Single and Dual Stack"
and change the row header text to:
"IPv6 Single and Dual Stack (primary interface)"

Add a new row and check both boxes:
"IPv6 Single and Dual Stack (Multus secondary interfaces)"

@Jason - applies from 4.3 onwards. No QE required.

Comment 5 Jason Boxman 2020-10-02 18:11:02 UTC
I've created a PR to resolve this: https://github.com/openshift/openshift-docs/pull/26085
