Description Priya Pandey 2020-09-30 12:30:54 UTC
Describe the issue:

1. python3 command is not working as expected toretrieve the external cluster
details from the RHCS 4 cluster.

2. Add some details how OCS will handle cephfs feature if MDS is enabled in
   external RHCS cluster

Describe the task you were trying to accomplish:

- Deploying OCS cluster in external mode

Suggestions for improvement:

- Add a section to use python <script> to extract cluster details for RHCS 4
  installed in RHEL 7.8

- Add section that cephfs components will automatically added in OCS 4
cluster if MDS is deployed in the external cluster.

I believe we should be using whatever "python" link points to.
The claim for python3 mostly comes from RHEL 8 which IIRC also has a "python" in your bin PATH pointing to python3.

So bottom line, do not force a specific python version.
