Comment 4 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2020-10-09 12:05:04 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 33-final by Fedora user pbrobinson using the blocker tracking app because:

We need U-Boot 2020.10 GA in final. We currently have 2020.010-RC5. It has a number of fixes for a number of devices.

Comment 5 Kamil Páral 2020-10-09 12:59:08 UTC
Peter, did you want to propose this as a blocker or a freeze exception? I added a freeze exception request, because that can get approved pretty quick I think. I this should be a blocker, can you be more specific about the changes? Why exactly Fedora needs to block on this? What is currently broken (and covered by our release criteria) that this update fixes? Thanks.

Comment 6 Peter Robinson 2020-10-09 13:12:25 UTC
there's a number of small fixes and because this is the GA release vs an RC it's more polished. The release cycle for upstream U-Boot is very close to the freeze of Fedora GA and from memory we've done this the last two cycles because the release comes out right on/after our freeze for final. If we ship with a RC release we get a lot of queries about it because people are concerned it reports as RC and not a final release and because it ships on the core media and which doesn't get updated we live those queries for a full cycle or longer.

Comment 9 Adam Williamson 2020-10-12 15:54:07 UTC
We now have -4 blocker votes in https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/157 , so rejected as a blocker. The justification doesn't really seem strong enough.
