Same issue here on F32, dnfdragora is completely unusable on my 1280x800 laptop: the bottom buttons (Apply, Select all & Quit) cannot be clicked because they're hidden by the bottom Mate panel. Downgrading to dnfdragora-2.0.4-2.fc33.noarch with everything else upgraded to latest updates-testing as of right new (11 am Chicago time 19-Oct) lets me shrink the Gtk window to a reasonable vertical size, but still not arbitrarily small, whereas I can shrink the Qt window vertically as much as I want
This may be unrelated, but I was checking out the widgets.py program from python3-yui-2.0.2-1.fc33.x86_64 when running on my Mate DE. Had to clean clean up print to print() and exec to exec(). The ability to vertically resize the dialog window is inconsistent. Sometimes I can completely resize the window to just the title bar and a thin bottom border. Other times, the vertical sizing is limited when displaying the same widget. Reproducibility seems very irregular; I have not identified a sequence that will force a lockup.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 33 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 33 on 2021-11-30. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '33'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 33 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
In my Fedora fc35 (+mate) i met with the same bug - i cant change vertical size and thus i cant "apply" the updating.
Fedora 35 xfce. Cannot resize dngdragora window. Because of which the buttons at the bottom are not accessible on my 720p screen.
Fedora 33 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-11-30. Fedora 33 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
Hi ya, I had the same issue. I don't know if this will help, but I temporarily changed my orientation from landscape to portrait. This enabled me to use the program as needed until the bug gets fixed.
Just installed Fedora-36-xfce on a brand new 2022 HP Pavilion (res:1366x768) and the dnfdragora app is *so large* that the buttons to "Apply" and "select all" for updating or installing are completely off the bottom of the screen and there is no apparent way to change the size of this window such that it becomes even remotely functional. The width of the window is adjustable but the height is not so the Apply button is inaccessible. For now I have to use DNF from the command line just to get all my updates until I can figure out how to create a desktop menu file to launch this app using a non-gtk interface. Please reopen and fix this very old bug. This problem still exists with the very latest software revision. I'm a retired computer scientist, so if there is anything I can check/test for you just let me know what I can do to help. btw - Why is the frickin button *only* at the bottom (off the screen)? Why is an "Apply" entry not available from the menu? No hotkey either? Why is it not vertically resizable? Any of these would at least make dnfdragora functional under these same conditions. Sorry for sounding grumpy. Its best not to talk to me before I get my updates in the morning. ;)
