Description mschepers 2020-10-27 15:33:09 UTC
Description of problem:

When joining a channel, chat appears in PM's rather then the channel using clients like Irssi, epic4, epic5 and x-chat, but maybe more clients.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

ngircd-26-1.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:

Install ngircd

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In irssi: /join #somechannel
2. Type a message: some message

Actual results:

In irssi you see it appear as PM's for everyone, rather than actual chat in the channel.

Expected results:

The messages should appear in the channel window and not as separate PM's

Additional info:

In ngircd-23-1.el7.x86_64 this was working just fine. It just got update in August to ngircd-26 and this bug was introduced. I am not sure if this is just in this Epel release, but this is where it is affecting me now.

Strange, I can't duplicate this... you are seeing it in all the various clients you tried?

Does it open query windows for everyone in the channel?

And downgrading back fixes it?

EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30. EPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.
