Description Milan Zamazal 2020-11-03 13:54:38 UTC
Description of problem:

In addition to the NVDIMM limitations already documented as part of BZ 1879175, the following limitation should be added:

Data persistence cannot be guaranteed in case of a host crash unless the NVDIMM host device is in devdax mode.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

4.4.3

Additional info:

See https://github.com/qemu/qemu/blob/master/docs/nvdimm.txt, section Guest Data Persistence, for a more detailed explanation.

NVDIMM cannot be currently used in devdax mode on the host due to BZ 1855336.
