Description Douglas Schilling Landgraf 2020-11-10 12:38:14 UTC
As IPI provide local DNS in addition to coredns running with OCP & it adds local nodes as nameserver in resolv.conf [ via /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/30-resolv-prepender ] which is creation issues

request is sometimes sent to local coredns & sometimes to external dns. This behavior do not allow nodes to reach RHV Engine and the installation fail.

Version:

$ openshift-install version
4.6/4.7

Platform:
ovirt

Please specify:
* IPI

What happened?
Installation failed and RHV Engine cannot be reached.

this behavior didn't change since 4.6 and we didn't have any issues back then.

Comment 2 Douglas Schilling Landgraf 2021-01-21 15:50:07 UTC
Moving to modified as 1882209

Comment 3 Douglas Schilling Landgraf 2021-01-21 16:09:23 UTC
The test basically needs to cover if the DNS resolution is working correctly. It hard to reproduce the bug but it happens sometimes. In my env. the patch fixes the report.

Comment 6 Michael Burman 2021-02-04 07:57:59 UTC
bz 1882209 has been verified.
Based on this, the bug can be considered as verified from our side as well. Verified on 4.7.0-fc.5
