Description of problem: The last release of freeradius-client is from 2015 and the fedora package has not been updated since then. Please switch to radcli which is a live fork of this project. The move to this project should be as easy as updating the dependency to racli-devel as it provides source code compatibility. See also: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=822337
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 34 development cycle. Changing version to 34.
Hi Guido, This bug was assigned to orphan-owner, I gave it to you. if freeradius-client is to be replaced by radcli, then no need to branch freeradius-client for EPEL 9, but rather first make the change in rawhide then request an EPEL 9 branch for radcli instead. What do you think ? Regards, Xavier
radcli is supported in monitoring-plugins (https://github.com/monitoring-plugins/monitoring-plugins/commit/2c898cf23f10962fe63ba15904c57fd63962e346) but not in nagios-plugins (https://github.com/nagios-plugins/nagios-plugins/blob/8af8b37c3154f9302974f28a355e7942a6d88902/configure.ac#L281)
Here's some preliminary work to allow to use radcli instead of freeradius-client. https://src.fedoraproject.org/fork/xavierb/rpms/nagios-plugins/branches?branchname=radcli It builds fine but fails at make install step.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 36 development cycle. Changing version to 36.
