Similar problem has been detected: The system (16 core Ryzen, 32 Gb ram) was: - Installing a fedora 33 VM with Gnome-Boxes - Watching a youtube video with Google Chrome - Copying +- 8000 files ( images and videos of around 80 GB) from one external drive (with format hfs+) to another one (ext4) through USB3. This copy was being performed via cp in the terminal while both source and destination paths were open in separate nautilus windows. The system froze for about 30 seconds just as the cp terminal command finished and gnome-shell showed the "Command Completed notification". It felt as if nautilus froze the whole system while trying to generate thumbnails. reporter: libreport-2.14.0 backtrace_rating: 4 cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-1000.slice/user/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.service cmdline: /usr/libexec/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk crash_function: g_hash_table_lookup_node executable: /usr/libexec/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk journald_cursor: s=d3a6d607646c4c4a9c1878ca163a9921;i=56e0;b=00e5cf32da9a4a13850d825d9320c653;m=514b34830;t=5b90ab6b6d93a;x=126073ad22c1d394 kernel: 5.10.7-200.fc33.x86_64 package: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-1.8.0-1.fc33 reason: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk killed by SIGSEGV rootdir: / runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000
Similar problem has been detected: I was chatting with a friend on Element. The Window began to flicker, then Gnome locked up. I initially thought this was a bug with Gnome, so I filed a bug report on their gitlab #3642 that goes into great detail. reporter: libreport-2.14.0 backtrace_rating: 4 cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-1000.slice/user/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.service cmdline: /usr/libexec/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk crash_function: g_hash_table_lookup_node executable: /usr/libexec/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk journald_cursor: s=533f6bfbaf7648bb9e8a0d34e3db3066;i=f2e8;b=826f86a16d9e4552a92e450afd4b46ed;m=52b3324d3;t=5ba3f86a524dc;x=ff4c1e16952e60f9 kernel: 5.10.10-200.fc33.x86_64 package: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk-1.8.0-1.fc33 reason: xdg-desktop-portal-gtk killed by SIGSEGV rootdir: / runlevel: N 5 type: CCpp uid: 1000

*** Bug 1989098 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This message is a reminder that Fedora 33 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 33 on 2021-11-30. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '33'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 33 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 33 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-11-30. Fedora 33 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
