Description teibt 2020-12-10 05:38:15 UTC
Description of problem:

We've figured out there is no Turkish time zone on "Hardware Clock Time
Offset" when we were trying sysprep.
There is no Turkey Standard Time HW Clock Time combobox. So we've used nearest one.
it causes some problems on GPO applyment, Outlook, Skype etc. connections in AD
environment

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Use sysprep with AD join spec, set timezone "Turkey Standard Time"

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a windows 10(20h2) template
2.Use sysprep with Turkey time zone an AD join spec,
3.Try open skype and outlook. GPO an login scripts dont run. they says can not connect but internet is available

Actual results:
Outlook and skype can not connect, GPO and login scripts dont work

Expected results:
They can do what they suppose to be

Verified on RHV 4.4.5-1. All looks good to me.

Env:
  - Engine instance with RHV 4.4.5-1 (ovirt-engine-4.4.5-0.11.el8ev) and RHEL 8.3 installed.
  - 3 hosts with RHV 4.4.5-1 and RHEL 8.3, 3 hosts with vdsm-4.40.50.1-1.el8ev.

Steps:
1. Create a 4.5 data center and a 4.5 cluster.
2. Install a host and create a new NFS storage domain and a NIC.
3. Import an ISO domain with Windows 10 (20H2) x64 ISO
4. Create a VM with operating system set as Windows 10 x64, add a 20GB SATA disk, Select the NIC, Enter memory size a minimum of 3GB and 2 virtual CPUs,
Select the Hardware Clock Time Offset as "Turkey Standard Time", Enable sysprep and configure the "Turkey Standard Time" in Sysprep, attach the Windows ISO as CD.
5. Run the VM and install the Windows on the VM with Turkey time zone.
6. Attach the virtio-win.iso to the VM and restart it.
7. Install the virtio Windows drivers.
8. Use Sysprep to seal the VM (Select System Cleanup Action as Enter System Out-of-Box-Experience (OOBE) and Under Shutdown Options, select Shutdown).
9. Create a template based on the Windows virtual machine.
10. Create a VM from the template.
11. Run the VM and check that the time zone is set correct and the Sysprep XML was applied with the Turkey Standard Time as timezone.

Results (As Expected):
1. The 4.5 data center and the 4.5 cluster were created.
2. The host was installed and the NFS storage domain was created.
3. The ISO domain was created.
4. The VM was created.
5. The Windows is installed on the VM.
6. The virtio-win ISO is attached as CD in the VM.
7. The virtio-win drivers are installed on the VM.
8. The VM is sealed.
9. The Windows template was created.
10. The Windows VM was created from the template.
11. The VM is running and the Turkey time zone was selected and the Sysprep XML was applied with Turkey Standard Time as timezone.

Hi,
we've upgraded our system to 4.4.5.
But there is option such "Turkey Time Zone" in the VM's "Sytem/Hardware Clock Time Offset"

Search for "(GMT+03:00) Turkey Standard Time"

Thanks for uploading the screen shot.
I've attached a screen shot of my 4.4.5 environment in which the Turkey time zone exists.
The more details you provide, the easier it is to assist you - please provide the version of ovirt-engine, the operating system you've set the guest with and any other information you may find relevant.

I'm surprised with the attachment you added.
Our system is 4.4.4.5-1.el8 and there is no "Turkey Time Zone"

Tried to create new machine, changed guest OS, but nothing

There is no available engine upgrade, engine-setup has been run.

Any idea should i check?

Thanks

The problem is that you don't have a version with the fix.
Note that this bug is fixed in engine 4.4.5(ovirt-engine-4.4.5-0.11), not 4.4.4.5.
Please update your engine to see the timezone.
