Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Roman, can you tell me which FDI version are you testing with? I will grab the same and retest.

I just released 3.7.3 upstream (there was a different kexec problem - an old regression that slipped through our release process and did not get released) and under libvirt BIOS, kexec works just fine.

Ok I am able to confirm that

https://brewweb.engineering.redhat.com/brew/buildinfo?buildID=1455556

works on my Satellite 6.8.2 instance. It must be some miscofiguration.

For the record, the kernel is still at the same version.

[root@box images]# file /mnt/temp/isolinux/vmlinuz0
/mnt/temp/isolinux/vmlinuz0: Linux kernel x86 boot executable bzImage, version 3.10.0-957.el7.x86_64 (mockbuild.eng.bos.redhat.com) #1 SMP Thu Oct 4 20:48:51 UTC 2018, RO-rootFS, swap_dev 0x6, Normal VGA

This is a kernel from RHEL 7.6, latest stable is 7.9:

https://access.redhat.com/articles/3078

I can confirm in the brew build log that this was indeed built against 7.6: https://brewweb.engineering.redhat.com/brew/buildinfo?buildID=1455556

I suggest to put this BZ off the 6.8 plate and move it to the next errata. We need one another rebuild to fix this one.

This bugzilla is currently proposed to sat-6.8.z and there are no additional 6.8.z planned. That said, the solution has been delivered and verified on Satellite 6.9.0; therefore, closing this bugzilla.
