RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Michael Trapp 2020-12-18 16:13:42 UTC
Dear Red Hat team,

we would like to ask wether you could backport
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/6fe2a70b9160e35fdeed9d37bd31727c2d46a8b2
to the current RHEL versions.

Having a timestamp in the 'busctl monitor' output will improve supportability
of systemd issues.

Thank you
Michael

Comment 2 Michael Trapp 2021-02-01 16:42:23 UTC
Is there any reason to skip the json part of the PR?
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/17969/files src/busctl/busctl.c

Kind regards
Michael

Comment 3 David Tardon 2021-02-01 18:39:29 UTC
Yes, there is. JSON output was only added in v. 240 and there's been no request to backport it so far, therefore it's not available in RHEL-8.

Comment 4 Michael Trapp 2021-04-07 13:48:16 UTC
Any update on this downport request?

As far as I can see it's not available in any RHEL 8 version.

rhel 8.0
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=95
systemd-239-13.el8_0.7.x86_64

rhel 8.1
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=75
systemd-239-18.el8_1.7.x86_64

rhel 8.2
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=1489
systemd-239-31.el8_2.2.x86_64

rhel 8-3
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=127
systemd-239-41.el8_3.2.x86_64

rhel-8-4
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=37
systemd-239-44.el8.x86_64

Actually I would expect an output like
‣ Type=signal Endian=l Flags=1 Version=1 Priority=0 Cookie=38 Timestamp="Wed 2021-04-07 13:28:31 UTC"

Kind regards
Michael

It hasn't been merged yet. It won't appear earlier than in 8.5.
