Description of problem: Alexandria crashes when clicking Add in the Adding a Book dialog. Cover doesn’t get saved, if one was provided. It also crashes when clicking Save in the Properties for 'Book' dialog. Cover gets saved, if one was provided. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): alexandria-0.7.8-1.fc33.noarch I reported it upstream, but they’ve been unable to reproduce: https://github.com/mvz/alexandria-book-collection-manager/issues/106

* Can you provide the "exact" (detailed) way to reproduce this issue? * Can you confirm that the issue you see does not happen with the previous alexandria? (Why I am asking this is because crash is actually in ruby-gnome side, so maybe even downgrading alexandria may not help, but this is related to ruby-gnome version)
ping?
1. Click Library → Add Book Manually. 2. Fill out the form, *including* the cover. 3. Click the Add button. 4. App crashes. After starting it again, you can see that the book has been added, but without the cover. Similar thing happens when editing a book to add a cover, but the cover gets added. I downgraded to alexandria-0.7.4-3.fc33.noarch and I can’t reproduce the crash anymore.
Sorry for wrong delay, however now I trued 1. Click Library → Add Book Manually. 2. Fill out the form, *including* the cover. 3. Click the Add button. for 2 books And it adds books normally without crashing, i.e. I cannot reproduce this issue. Would you write in detail the procedure to reproduce this issue?
I think I’m onto something: Alexandria only crashes when a search is active while adding a book.
Unless there is any updated information how to reproduce this issue, I am going to once close this bug after one week.
I’m sorry, I should’ve been more clear in my last comment. This is how I can reproduce the crash reliably: 1. Type anything in the search bar. 2. Click Library → Add Book Manually. 2. Fill out the form. 3. Click the Add button. 4. App crashes. Without the first step, Alexandria won’t crash.
I have not tried yet, however can you provide the step also to the upstream? Maybe the upstream can resolve your issue quickly.
Of course: https://github.com/mvz/alexandria-book-collection-manager/issues/106#issuecomment-787058449
Reproducible.
Once I am going to close this bug.
