Description Gianluca Cecchi 2020-12-23 13:33:37 UTC
Description of problem:

It is not clear what changes are exactly involved/implied when upgrading Cluster (and impicitly then DC) compatibility level.
What one would loose and what one would gain.
I think that having a dedicate page would be a great thing, also because when you upgrade the cluster level you need then a power off / power on of all VMs to have them gain the new virtual hw features and so on (even if at choice when desired and not suddenly)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

4.4.4

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. walk through oVirt documentation
2. search features offered by the several levels of cluster
3.

Actual results:

no detailed information

Expected results:

something useful to check to correctly and timely plan the upgrade action

Any news on this? Now we have 4.4.6 with compatibility level 4.6 and it is not so clear what it provides, apart the fact that it needs RH EL 8.4 or equivalent...
