Description Lukas Ruzicka 2021-01-05 17:20:27 UTC
Created attachment 1744653 [details]
Journalctl -b output from the affected machine.

Description of problem:

When I switched to PipeWire on Fedora Rawhide completely, i.e. replaced the original JACK server with pipewire-jack-audio-connection-kit, some of the JACK applications (such as ARDOUR) became unstable and crash occasionally - this will require more testing and observation, but QJackCtl crashes constantly.

The application can be run from the Gnome Menu, or using `pw-jack qjackctl` and it starts fine, it can be also used until you click on the "GRAPH" button to see the connections. Then it crashes immediately taking the whole Gnome session down.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-session 3.38.0
pipewire-pulseaudio 0.3.18
pipewire-jack-audio-connection-kit 0.3.18
qjackctl 0.6.3-2

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run `qjackctl`.
2. Click on the GRAPH button.

Actual results:

QJackCtl crashes upon clicking on Graph button.

Expected results:

The existing connections should be shown on QJackCtl and it should be possible to connect or disconnect devices.

Additional info:

Journalctl reports the "Client too slow" error, see the attached journalctl.txt for the complete logs from the affected machine.

Gnome runs under Wayland, if it is of any importance.

Comment 2 Wim Taymans 2021-01-22 11:51:54 UTC
I can't reproduce, is this still an issue with newer versions?
