Description of problem: According to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Deprecate_Apache_Jakarta_Commons_HttpClient nothing should depend of jakarta-commons-httpclient anymore. There is on package left : ant-contrib https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/ant-contrib/blob/master/f/ant-contrib.spec#_25
Not true. On rawhide, a few more packages still depend on it: $ dnf --installroot=/tmp/dnf/ --repo rawhide --repo rawhide-source --releasever rawhide repoquery --whatrequires jakarta-commons-httpclient ant-contrib-0:1.0-0.39.b3.fc33.src arduino-core-1:1.8.13-4.fc33.noarch dogtag-pki-0:10.10.0-1.fc34.src fop-0:2.5-1.fc34.noarch jakarta-commons-httpclient-demo-1:3.1-36.fc33.noarch pki-base-java-0:10.10.0-2.fc34.noarch pki-core-0:10.10.0-2.fc34.src I agree that the dependency should be removed, if possible. However, ant-contrib upstream is dead, so projects that use ant-contrib should drop ant-contrib instead ... On the other hand, I know that pki and dogtag upstreams are very active and helpful, and would probably appreciate bug reports for dropping ant-contrib.
here are the packages requiring ant-contrib: dnf --installroot=/tmp/dnf/ --repo rawhide --repo rawhide-source --releasever rawhide repoquery --whatrequires ant-contrib apiviz-0:1.3.2-21.fc32.src eclipse-gef-0:3.11.0-14.fc34.src forbidden-apis-0:2.5-9.fc34.src java-sleep-0:2.1-21.fc33.src jmol-0:14.31.18-1.fc34.src libbase-0:1.1.3-26.fc33.src libfonts-0:1.1.3-29.fc33.src libformula-0:1.1.3-26.fc33.src libloader-0:1.1.3-27.fc33.src librepository-0:1.1.3-27.fc33.src libserializer-0:1.1.2-26.fc33.src mojo-executor-0:2.3.1-4.fc33.src mysql-connector-java-1:8.0.22-1.fc34.src pentaho-libxml-0:1.1.3-26.fc33.src scala-0:2.10.6-17.fc32.src
