RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

FWIW, Fedora 32/33/Rawhide have been updated with open-vm-tools 11.2.5:

Please also build for AARCH64. I have tested the build and it works correctly with the ESXi ARM Fling if you exclude the "ConditionVirtualization=vmware" from the service files. The latter should be addressed in virt-what.

Rick - sending your way since it got an ITR the Triaged keyword got set while assigned to virt-maint and that causes the normal virt triage process to possibly miss this.

Assigned to Mirek for rebase.

Comment 10 ldu 2021-02-18 01:13:12 UTC
Hi Mirek,
I found the fixed version is open-vm-tools-11.2.5-1.el9, but this bug is for RHEL8.5, when I install open-vm-tools-11.2.5-1.el9 on RHEL8.5 compose, there is dependency error, so could you help build a xxx.el8 package for RHEL8.5?

Thanks,
Lili Du

Hi Lili,

branch for 8.5.0 is not opened yet but here's scratch build to test:

Hi Mirek,
I have run sanity test for the scratch build, all regression test cases passed, no new issue found.
As RHEL8.5 branch not opened, I think no hurry for the package rebase.

For RHEL9 11.2.5 rebase, seems no BZ track it, do you need me create one for it?

BRs,
Lili Du

As we got rebase from fedora we do not need the BZ for tracking it. However, you can
create it in case it will help you with testing tracking.

Run regression test for open-vm-tools-11.2.5-1.el8 on RHEL8.5, no new issue or regression issue found.

Comment 21 ldu 2021-05-31 02:28:59 UTC
Run regression functional test with build open-vm-tools-11.2.5-2.el8 on RHEL8.5, no regression issue found, all cases passed.
So change status to verified.
