If you're unable to source the problem and correct it, you might want to ask for help on the xorg.org mailing list, where others can help isolate the misconfiguration and assist in correcting the problem. The reason the screen is blinking is because the X server is restarting in an endless loop, and failing again due to font subsystem problems, but that is not a video problem.
