Description of problem: Please, see this bug report for background: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1789647 The memory information from RHEL8 guests is not collected if the VM doesn't have a balloon device even if the guest has qemu-guest-agent installed. There are certain cases where it is not recommeded to have a balloon device, for example when using a high performance VM: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_virtualization/4.4/html/virtual_machine_management_guide/configuring_high_performance_virtual_machines_templates_and_pools#creating_a_high_performance_virtual_machine_template_or_pool Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHV 4.3, 4.4 qemu-guest-agent-4.2.0-34.module+el8.3.0+8829+e7a0a3ea.1.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install RHEL8 VM in RHV. Don't use balloon device. 2. Install qemu-guest-agent in the guest. Actual results: VM memory usage is not reported in RHV. Expected results: Memory usage reported.
