There are a number of existing bugs around this.  Bug 1797123 should have fixed your use-case in 4.6 and later [1,2].  It has not yet been backported to 4.5.  There's also some discussion in bug 1773419.  But transparent, network-defined proxy doesn't have a clear story addressing it [3].  I'm going to close this as a dup of bug 1797123, but please re-open if you can reproduce on 4.6 or later.  Comment on bug 1797123 if you want to make a case for backporting the change to 4.5.
