Description Alexander Klein 2021-02-04 10:05:48 UTC
Description of problem:

ssh to node does not give any taint or annotation.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

ocp 4.7.0-0.nightly-s390x-2021-01-22-032543
rhcos 47.83.202101211840-0

Steps to Reproduce:
1. ssh to node
2. check annotations (https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3801571)

Actual results:

# oc get nodes -o jsonpath='{range .items[*]}{.metadata.name}{" - "}{.metadata.annotations.machineconfiguration\.openshift\.io/ssh}{"\n"}{end}'
master-01 -
master-02 -
master-03 -
worker-1 -
worker-2 -

Expected results:

the nodes that were accesed by ssh currently or anytime in the past should show
nodename - accessed

Additional info:
there was an older bz https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1714659 which says this was turned of entirely but the current documentation mentions the nodes getting annotations.

Comment 1 Alexander Klein 2021-02-04 10:20:08 UTC
verified on older versions this was working

@Ben this looks like a dupe of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1842603

Yup, restarting the MCD fixes it to show the annotation.
