Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
When attempting to remove a host via the GUI the following error is displayed:
PG::ForeignKeyViolation: ERROR: update or delete on table "hosts" violates foreign key constraint "fk_rails_a2c850b2c9" on table "insights_hits" DETAIL: Key (id)=(<id>) is still referenced from table "insights_hits".
This appears to be the same issue described in Bugzilla's 1860422 and 1875966, however as per solution #5371901 this issue should have been fixed in Satellite 6.7.4. The issue is not consistent with all hosts. Some can be removed, others display this error.
The workaround described in Bz 1875966 works in this case as well.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Satellite 6.8.3-1.el7sat
How reproducible: I was unable to reproduce in my lab, but customer has had this occur multiple times when trying to remove various different hosts from Satellite.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Hosts -> All Hosts and try to delete a host
Actual results: "ForeignKeyViolation" message above is displayed in GUI.
Expected results: Host is removed from Satellite
Verified:
Verified with:
- Satellite 6.9.0 snap 17
- tfm-rubygem-foreman_rh_cloud-3.0.18-1.el7sat.noarch
Test steps:
- Have a hosts with Insights recommendations
- Try to delete the host.
Observation:
- Host deleted successfully from satellite.
