Engine log

Description of problem: Every now and then disks remain in locked status. I suppose during snapshot creation and/or removal (there is a backup process - vprotect - interacting many times a day with ovirt)

ovirt-engine-4.4.4.7-1
vdsm-4.40.40-1 (ovirt-node 4.4.4)


How reproducible: It happens randomly (but quite often), once in a few days


Steps to Reproduce: I don't have a way to easily reproduce

Actual results: after snapshot management disks remain in "LOCKED" status (one of the snapshots reports "Disks in status illegal")


Expected results: after snapshot management disks are moved back to "UP" status



Additional info: Running /usr/share/ovirt-engine/setup/dbutils/unlock_entity.sh (with proper parameters) fix the issue.

No update for a while, didn't make it in time for 4.5, closing

We made quite a few changes that could have fixed this issue, e.g., bz 2057445
As part of the tests of oVirt 4.5, we tested this scenario a lot and didn't notice this issue anymore so please upgrade as soon as practical

This bugzilla is included in oVirt 4.5.0 release, published on April 20th 2022.

Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in oVirt 4.5.0 release, it has been closed with a resolution of CURRENT RELEASE.
