Description Camille Gardet 2021-02-19 09:13:27 UTC
Hello,

I would like to use python-progressbar2 on EL8.
Could you please branch and build the package for EPEL8?

Thank you

Hi Camille,

Unfortunately, I don't have access to EL at all: I don't use them.

Neal, Petr: would you be open to maintaining this for EL (if you don't already)? If not, Camille, would you like to join us as a co-maintainer to help?

Cheers,
Ankur

Hi Ankur,

Thank you for your reply.
I am happy to help you with the EL8 packaging.

With François (in CC), we already repackaged internally python-progressbar2 and its dependency python-utils.

As I am not familiar with the official packaging procedures, would you please guide me?

Best regards,
Camille

Hi Camille,

Thanks: I believe you just request a new branch for epel and proceed as usual with builds etc.

The info is here:

Cheers,
Ankur

Hi Ankur,

Since I am not a package maintainer, my colleague has requested new branchs for epel8 :
- python-utils (dependency) : https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/33115
- python-progressbar2 : https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/33108

Best regards,
Camille
