Description of problem: New OSP16.1 environment doesn't mount the EFI partition during the deployment. We manually mounted the UEFI partition on /mnt, it's not mounted by default AND it doesn't contain the redhat entry (only red) ~~~ [root@hostabc EFI]# pwd /mnt/EFI [root@hostabc EFI]# ls BOOT red ~~ It seems OSP16 deployments with ironic use grub-install command for uefi which is wrong and not creating the partition at first place. A similar issue[1] for UEFI based system was found during the Upgrade framework from 13 to 16.1 and has been fixed by manually following[2] , permanent fix for BZ[1] is planned for OSP16z4 [1] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1925078 [2] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1925078#c15 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): OSP16.1
This looks like a duplicate for bug #1925078, which has a fix in today's 16.1.4 release *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1925078 ***
This is not upgrade issue but ironic and deployment issue for new deployments.
The CI jobs are showing this fix is working.
