Description Ilanit Stein 2021-03-10 15:15:30 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently the vddk version being used is not displayed anywhere.
Please add the Data Volume annotation that shows the version of the VDDK library, currently loaded by nbdkit.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.0

Comment 1 Fabien Dupont 2021-03-11 13:10:26 UTC
It would be better to surface the information as an annotation on the DataVolume.
Considering warm migration, the VDDK image can change between iterations, so we should store the info per iteration.

Comment 2 Adam Litke 2021-05-12 18:21:09 UTC
Is this still needed for 4.8, is it being worked?

Comment 3 Matthew Arnold 2021-05-12 18:46:39 UTC
This is done, I just forgot to link the pull request.

Comment 4 Maya Rashish 2021-05-20 18:08:05 UTC
bug has a target release 4.8.0 but didn't have a backport to release-v1.34.
I created a backport, but not sure when the exact deadline for blockers only is, and whether we want this in or push to 4.8.1.

Comment 5 Adam Litke 2021-05-21 15:58:06 UTC
Fabien, I understand this is not a priority for 4.8. Can you please retarget the bug?

Comment 6 Ilanit Stein 2021-08-11 19:26:38 UTC
Verified on CNV-4.8.1-18
Running a Migration plan from VMware 6.5, from MTV-2.1.0-45.
The vddk library version is mentioned at the top of the importer pod log.
