Description Ibiam Chihurumnaya 2021-03-17 11:50:50 UTC
Spec URL: https://chimosky.fedorapeople.org/sugar-dimensions.spec
SRPM URL: https://chimosky.fedorapeople.org/sugar-dimensions-60-2.fc32.src.rpm
Description: The object is to find sets of three cards where each attribute—color,
shape, number of elements, and shading—either match on all three cards
or are different on all three cards. The current version doesn't yet
support sharing with multiple players or saving to the Journal, but it
can be played by a single player.

The review is for a package rename, the package name has changed upstream.

Package rename to sugar-dimensions.

Comment 3 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2021-03-17 13:30:19 UTC
 - Python 2 is obsolete in Fedora. Either find a Python 3 version, or request an exception by the FPC.

 - It seems it has been ported on Python 3 on release 60: https://github.com/sugarlabs/dimensions/blob/master/NEWS#L8

Yeah, I encountered some errors while trying to build but I'm fixing them at the moment and will update the links once I do.

Comment 5 Ibiam Chihurumnaya 2021-03-17 15:21:49 UTC
I've updated the links.

Comment 6 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2021-03-17 16:27:50 UTC
 -Please use the Fedora default build flags:

%build
CFLAGS="${CFLAGS:-${RPM_OPT_FLAGS}}" LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS:-${RPM_LD_FLAGS}}" \
python3 ./setup.py build

%install
CFLAGS="${CFLAGS:-${RPM_OPT_FLAGS}}" LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS:-${RPM_LD_FLAGS}}" \
python3 ./setup.py install --prefix=$RPM_BUILD_ROOT/%{_prefix}

 - Why do you remove the desktop file?

rm %{buildroot}%{_prefix}/share/applications/*.desktop || true

 - You must include the COPYING.MIT:

%license COPYING COPYING.MIT

 - This is not correct:

sed -i 's/env python/python3/' *.py cairoplot/*.py

If a py file already contains 'env python3', the result will be 'env python33'

In any case the shebangs should be removed in prep:

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/setup.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python33

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/helpbutton.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/gencards.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/dimensions.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/cairoplot/series.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/cairoplot/setup.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/cairoplot/cairoplot.py
1:#!/usr/bin/python3

See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging_tricks#Remove_shebang_from_Python_libraries

for lib in $(find . -name "*.py" -type f); do
 sed '1{\@^#!/usr/bin/env python@d}' $lib > $lib.new &&
 touch -r $lib $lib.new &&
 mv $lib.new $lib
done

 - Don't mix tabs and spaces

 - Fix the obsolete FSF address and send the patch upstream:

sugar-dimensions.noarch: E: incorrect-fsf-address /usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/cairoplot/cairoplot.py
sugar-dimensions.noarch: E: incorrect-fsf-address /usr/share/sugar/activities/Dimensions.activity/cairoplot/series.py

 - Don't fix %{buildroot} and $RPM_BUILD_ROOT Choose only one.

Seems the distro flags are needed when compiling C/C++ code and the package doesnt' contain any.

The desktop file is removed because the can create icons for running sugar activities
outside the sugar desktop on other desktops and sugar activities were meant to be run
from the sugar desktop.

Thanks for that, fixed.

It's a license and the version used still contains same address hence I can't just change it.

Fixed, thanks.

It's allowed to patch the headers but not single license file. In any case please send a patch upstream.

Package approved.
