Description Davide Cavalca 2021-03-24 20:43:10 UTC
Please branch and build softhsm for epel8, as it's needed for building swtpm which we're also trying to build for epel8 (#1939674) and the version in RHEL / CentOS Stream is part of a non-default module stream (#1942240). I tested a mockbuild of the rawhide branch and it seems to work fine out of the box. Also happy to do this myself if you prefer, just add me a co-maintainer for the EPEL branch in case (FAS: dcavalca). Thanks!

Comment 1 Jakub Jelen 2021-03-25 09:38:36 UTC
I was not sure about the guidelines about EPEL 8 and other streams but as far as I see, we should be able to provide sofhtsm in epel8 as long as the package is not provided in the default stream (AFAIK it is only in IDM stream):

Comment 2 Paul Wouters 2021-03-31 21:32:22 UTC
paul@thinkpad:~/fedora/softhsm (rawhide=)$ fedpkg request-branch epel8
Could not execute request_branch: This package is already an EL package and is built on all supported arches, therefore, it cannot be in EPEL. If this is a mistake or you have an exception, please contact the Release Engineering team.

Comment 3 Davide Cavalca 2021-03-31 21:58:10 UTC
Thanks, I've asked on #epel and it sounds like this warrants an exception, so I've filed https://pagure.io/releng/issue/10074 with releng.

Comment 4 Davide Cavalca 2021-04-16 15:10:50 UTC
The releng ticket has been resolved and the epel8 branch has been created, so we should be able to move forward here.

Comment 5 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2021-04-26 12:38:21 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
