Your package fails to build with the newest upcoming autoconf-2.71, which is part of a wide Fedora change. Please see the attached copr: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/odubaj/autoconf-2.70/packages/. More information about testing your package when building with autoconf available here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Autoconf_271#How_To_Test
Gentle ping.
This package has: binutils/aclocal.m4:m4_if(m4_defn([AC_AUTOCONF_VERSION]), [2.69],, (and in several other places). https://sourceware.org/git/?p=binutils-gdb.git;a=blob;f=binutils/aclocal.m4;h=a877fa7f873d345528289703150cf1ef1899cd38;hb=HEAD#l15 It will require upstream an fix.
Hello, any updates from upstream ?
I've not even tried. If this is important I would suggest pursuing the changes necessary with upstream. Fedora only deals with packaging and the clear choice upstream is to remain with 2.69, until I hear otherwise.
If I understand it correctly, upstream refuses to move to version 2.69 also in the future ? Then we should create a downstream patch to resolve the problems.
...move to version 2.71...
No I didn't say that. I said that if this is important, please contact upstream and/or send them patches to move to autoconf 2.71.
The dependency on autoconf is removed from mingw-binutils.
