Description of problem: I have KDE Plasma. Plasma has a removable device notifier. The "Automatically mount all removable media when attached " option is turned on. When I put an SD card into the laptop's built-in reader, the card is mounted. But when I click "Safely remove" for that card, it is immediately mounted again! I have to use "sudo umount" to unmount it. The laptop is ThinkPad P1Gen3. The issue does *not* seem to happen with an external card reader. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Apparently every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In the KDE Settings under "removable devices" ensure that the "Automatically mount all removable media when attached " option is turned on. 2. Insert SD card into laptop. 3. List the files oin teh SD card to ensure it is mounted. 4. Click the device notifier icon and click "Safely remove" for the card. Actual results: "Safely remove" blinks and appears again; card remains mounted. Expected results: "Safely remove" replaced with "Mount" or card disappears from the list; card is unmounted. Still hapens for me on Fedora 34, reopening.
Just reproduced for me on Fedora 35 with Plasma 5.23.3. Note that the problem happens only with the built-in SD card reader. It does NOT reproduce with a USB-attached SD card reader, nor with a USB flash drive.
As I finally got this reproduced on a currently-supported version of Plasma, I have opened an upstream bug at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446395
