Description Ilanit Stein 2021-04-01 09:50:13 UTC
Description of problem:
In the migration plan creation, VMs page, under the "Migration assessment", the VMs are constantly in "analyzing" state, showing a rotating circle.

Also in the Migration type page,
beside the "Analysing warm migration compatibility",
there is an endless rotating cycle - Looks like related to the above endless "analyzing".

Mike Turley: It appears to be a controller issue.
@Jeff Ortel that would be happening if the VM objects have `revisionValidated` that does not equal their `revision`.

Jeff Ortel: The operator just merged a PR that properly configures the forklift controller with the URL etc for the validation service. Most likely cause here.

Does it reproduce with 2.0.0-15 or above?

Comment 2 Ilanit Stein 2021-04-20 16:33:42 UTC
Yes. Bug is still there on OCP-4.7.6/CNV-2.6.1, MTV-2.0.0-18 - iib-68063

Comment 3 Fabien Dupont 2021-04-20 19:30:31 UTC

Comment 4 Nandini Chandra 2021-04-20 19:37:10 UTC
This worked fine on MTV 2.0.0-17, but stopped working again on MTV 2.0.0-18 and 2.0.0-19.

Comment 5 Jeff Ortel 2021-04-20 20:51:31 UTC
Fixed: https://github.com/konveyor/forklift-controller/pull/222
Merged to release branch.

Comment 6 Fabien Dupont 2021-05-03 12:09:30 UTC
The fix should be part of build mtv-operator-bundle-container-2.0.0-4 / iib:72115.

Comment 7 Ilanit Stein 2021-05-09 17:08:45 UTC
Verified on MTV 2.0.0-12 / iib:73572

VMware VMs list in migration plan creation dialog not longer appear as "analyzing". For each VM there is a "service validation" status displayed.
