Adding needinfo on Travis and Niels to comment on the rook and csi questions about ability to disable the rbd trash.
Running one-time Ceph configuration commands such as "rbd trash rm" need to be done in the toolbox. The rook operator does not automate such commands. When running toolbox commands, it gives the full power of the ceph commands, but also comes with the risks of unintended side effects. I'm not aware of limitations with "rbd trash rm" specifically either.
QA verified 1. Create multiple images 2. create clones to few images 3. thrash move all the images # rbd trash mv testpool/testimage 4. thrash purge all the trash images #rbd trash purge testpool 5. check the status of cluster Progress is not stuck 6. Verify the images with no clones are successfully deleted
