Verification steps:
Open the web-console, negative to Monitoring -> Alerting -> • Alerting rules-> APIRemovedInNextReleaseInUse
On old release,
$ oc get clusterversion

The default Expression:
group by(group, version, resource) (apiserver_requested_deprecated_apis{removed_release="1.22"}) and (sum by(group, version, resource) (rate(apiserver_request_total[10m]))) > 0
Check with new release:
$ oc get clusterversion
NAME VERSION AVAILABLE PROGRESSING SINCE STATUS
version 4.8.0-0.nightly-2021-04-18-101412 True False 8h Cluster version is 4.8.0-0.nightly-2021-04-18-101412
The default Expression:
group by(group, version, resource) (apiserver_requested_deprecated_apis{removed_release="1.22"}) and (sum by(group, version, resource) (rate(apiserver_request_total[4h]))) > 0
