Description of problem: Trying to set up taskbar notifications in Konversation does not work. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): konversation-1.7.7-2.fc34.x86_64 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run konversation, connect to some server 2. go to Settings => Configure Notifications 3. select e.g. Nick written 4. check Mark taskbar entry, OK 5. switch away from Konversation (make different application active) 6. have someone written your nick on a channel Actual results: nothing Expected results: the Konversation item flashes on the taskbar until the user switches to the application (makes it active) Additional info: working around by using popup notifications isn't viable as these disappear quickly (there is no option to make them shown indefinitely, you can set 120 secs at max) and it is pretty annoying having to clean up the notifications manually, especially if you're in the middle of a conversation directed to you, receiving tenths of messages ...

I've just tested this and I get a 1 in a circle on the taskbar icon for konversation. I'm not sure it's supposed to flash. Can you please confirm?

Can you please confirm? it did in the past - before wayland (or something like that?)

(In reply to Justin Zobel from comment #5) > Upstream bug report here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348502 not sure if this is exactly the same, as tray notifications work for me, what doesn't work is the taskbar highlighting ... but yes, I guess it makes sense to link these
