Description of problem: 1. After users created their own template, they went to VM creation Wizard trying to filter and search the template they created. The filter did not return result when “User Provided” was applied. It only return result when “User Supported” was applied. Users were confused by the difference between “ Supported” and “Provided”. 2. There’s a link for “Learn more about Red Hat support” but users also needed to know the difference between “Red Hat Supported” and “Red Hat Provided”. And similarly users needed to know the difference between “User Supported” and “User Provided”. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
Miss-confusion with the terms 'Red Hat supported' vs. 'Red Hat provided' in VM templates https://issues.redhat.com/browse/CNV-11821
From https://issues.redhat.com/browse/CNV-11821 "Users would expect anything we show in the UI to be supported so they can use it. Therefore we will drop "Red Hat supported" and only keep "Red Hat provided". It will be implemented in the templates cards and in the filter check box."
Moving it to next release, it is RFE, not blocker in release.
Works as expected on 4.9. Verified on https://console-openshift-console.apps.virt-09.cnv-qe.rhcloud.com Client Version: 4.8.0-rc.1 Server Version: 4.9.0-0.nightly-2021-07-12-203753 Kubernetes Version: v1.21.1+90622d8 NAME DISPLAY VERSION REPLACES PHASE kubevirt-hyperconverged-operator.v4.9.0 OpenShift Virtualization 4.9.0 kubevirt-hyperconverged-operator.v2.6.5 Succeeded The menu is simplified and only contains two options: "Red Hat" and "User". The filtering is working properly and only the relevant selection is displayed. Moving to VERIFIED.
