This might be a UI naming and design issue rather than a missing feature. By selecting "Customize boot source", I can create new templates from existing templates regardless of how the original was created. This is not exactly the same as "Create new Template From..." but for the use case of sub-customizing an already customized boot source, it is sufficient.
@guoyang, given the possible UI path I mentioned to achieve the goal of this RFE, could you please comment whether the RFE is still necessary?
"create new templates from existing templates" and "Customize boot source" are different UI path. To create new templates from existing templates, you need to click the kebab button and select the `create new templates from` button, which will open the wizard to create a new template. From the usability study issue, it's not clear why this button is not on a user created template.
