But Step 4.5 does *not* modify cinder's configuration, so as far as TripleO is concerned the cinder-volume and cinder-backup services don't need to be restarted. As such operation which need DCN site's RC file will fail. For example if you wish to backup a volume from a DCN site to central site, failing to update c-backup via a docker restart will result in failed volume backup with an error such as this one: 2021-05-16 07:26:35.040 43 ERROR oslo_messaging.rpc.server FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/ceph/dcn1.client.openstack.keyring' Once Cinder backup docker is restarted backup works fine. Same is true for volume migration from DCN site to central site, this time however the Cinder volume docker needs to be restarted. This is true for 16.1z6 we're just about to release, its true for all 16.1, plus I suspect 16.2 versions too.
