Journal Logs

Description of problem:
No Gnome at startup due to amdgpu failing to load. The problem started after updating system using dnf to kernel 5.12.6-300.fc34 (It was a big update with many items).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Whatever latest versions included in the update of May 24 and kernel 5.12.5-300.
Today's update to kernel 5.12.6-300 didn't change the situation.
I have an AMD RX 5700XT.

How reproducible:
Unless you have a setup like mine you probably won't be able to reproduce the exact issue.
Having an AMD RX 5xxx will help though.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
No GUI and boot up ends up with multi-user mode console login.

Expected results:
Gnome running at login screen.

Additional info:
The specific error as you can see in the logs is failing to load amdgpu lib radeonsi.

This is probably due to the newly updated mesa-21.1.1-1.fc34. It's conflicting with amdgpu driver. I'll downgrade and see if that's the case.

Two things:

1. Official AMD GPU Drivers
Without touching mesa, I installed official AMD drivers, rebooted, then uninstalled them, then rebooted. Now Gnome login screen is working normally.
At this point, I can say the issue is resolved. Considering I had the official AMD GPU Pro drivers installed before the May 24th update, it's safe to conclude that this problem only occurs if that driver was installed, but shouldn't affect other setups, but I could be wrong.

2. Fedora and AMD GPU Pro Drivers
We know that AMD doesn't support Fedora with it's Pro drivers. Still, it can easily be installed. However, the May 24th update of mesa-21.1.1-1.fc34 broke the Pro drivers.
To be able to use the AMD GPU Pro drivers, I had to downgrade to the older mesa. I now have a fully working gdm, Gnome and AMD Pro drivers.
For now, I'll have to apply updates excluding mesa until a solution is found.
Should this be a separate bug report for mesa?

The above bug, GDM hangs on start with radeon, but OK with amdgpu (but sound over HDMI is not working).
